Interested in Learning Sign Language

The library now has Signing Savvy.  All you need is your library card to access this resource from home.  Signing Savvy is a sign language dictionary containing several thousand high resolution videos of American Sign Language (ASL) signs, finger spelled words, and other commonly used signs used within the United States and Canada.

Friends Annual Book Sale begins Thursday, May 31

The Annual Friends of the Lynbrook Library Book Sale will begin on Thursday, May 31 at 10:00am.  Hours for the Book Sale are:

Thursday - May 31 - 10:00am-8:45pm

Friday - June 1 - 10:00am-4:45pm

Saturday - June 2 - 10:00am-4:45pm

Monday - June 4 - 10:00am-5:00pm

Monday is bag day.  Fill a bag with books for one low price.

The Library will start accepting book donations on Monday, May 7.  Please be sure the books are in good condition, free of mold, musty smell, etc....  All proceeds from the book sale go to the Friends of the Lynbrook Library.  The monies help support programs and services offered at the Library.

Volunteers are always needed.  If interested inquire about the Friends group when in the library.

Looking for some entertainment on Saturday, May 5

Come to the library at 2:00 for a concert performed by Alexander Wu, "Rhythm Road Across the Americas". Alexander Wu will perform a dynamic solo piano concert that combines many musical styles to delight the audience. No registration required.

All are welcome to attend this free concert. 

Spring Break Activities For the Family

Looking for something to do with the kids either Wednesday or Thursday, the Library may have your answer.

On Wednesday, April 11 at 2:00, we will be showing a family film.  Come with your children and enjoy.  The title is a secret, but if you call the library, we will tell.

Thursday, April 12 at 2:00, for children ages 4 and up, the family can "Rock it out Ked Style with the Music of Squeaky Clean".

Interested in learning about the Titanic

Come to the library......

To watch a program and see Titanic memorabilia "100 years" later.

On Monday, April 9, 2012, at 7:00 pm Michael Shindler (Titanic Historical Society/Lynbrook TV) and Father Jerry Bechard ("The Titanic Priest") will present a multi-media presentation about the Titanic.  Do not miss this opportunity to listen to two experts!  All are welcome.

Also, visit the library during the month of April to see the display of Titanic memorabilia.  Mike Shindler will display some of his collection.
